Tires can directly change the look on your vehicle with all available different designs, and most importantly special tires perfom better and increase acceleration on their best terrain type. Tires that provide 4.0+ Friction for terrain types are most desirable, especially the Sand tires for Ground Zero map.

Wheels and tanks treads can be bought from vendors in all major cities. In addition to that, tires and cutom tires drop from mobs across the Wasteland. Each vehicle can equip either a set of tires (2,4,6) or tank treads. All vehicles have a standard set of default tires pre-equipped with 3.0 to all terrain Friction.

There are 6 terrain types and 5 special wheels to counter them. Each special wheel has a destinct texture and usually have 4.0+ Friction in the assigned terrain specialty. Grass & Gravel have no specialized tires but can be compensated with the overall-coverage of the All-Terrain* wheel:

• Pavement: Street Tires
• Grass: All-Terrain*
• Gravel: All-Terrain*
• Mud: Knobbie Tires
• Ice/Snow: Snow Tires
• Sand: Sand Tires

Tires have 4 different models, and each model has several rim styles:

Custom Wheels, Treads & Special Editions:

Cutom wheels are Rare 2/1 tone colored tires that only drop in higher levels (69, 70, 71). These tires utilize the same basic designs with added bright colors to the inner and outer rim section. There are no custom Tank Treads.

Currently, only Humans can loot Custom Bike wheels.

U3 reintroduced the tank treads to AA, with 4 standard types for all factions. Tanks treads can be bought from vendors in all major cities & are always available in Apartments.
